French cuisine with a twist, surrounded by vineyards in the northern hills of the valley and boasting wonderful views of Mt. Fuji. The 220-year-old building is a former mountain lodge that was dismantled and rebuilt on this plot. One chef and one set course, made from local ingredients and fish straight from the coast of Shizuoka. No children under 12.

Contemporary restaurant preparing local ingredients with French flair, enjoyed alongside the wide variety of wines made by the 130-year-old Lumiere winery in which it is located. The chef trained in France and America and had a stint at the famous Hotel Okura in Tokyo. Lovely location just outside the main Katsunuma area.

The realisation of one man’s dream to have his own soba noodle restaurant, a pride evidenced by the fact his soba-making lab is the first thing you see when you approach the building (and nice entertainment whilst you wait for your table - arrive early at this popular place or expect a short wait for lunch). The tempura is also good and with certain dishes you get to shave your own wasabi.
